Help to our poor children education (Chiguru Srujana Shaale)
TO, Dear All Sir Madam Friends society Sub:- Help to our school poor children education. Introduction to Chiguru Vijnaana Samsthe: Chiguru Vijnana Samsthe was started by the undersigned - Shivappa Katavalu - during 2007 at Katavalu village, HD Kote Taluk of Mysuru District. The objective of this endeavor was to generate and sustain an interest in systematic learning among rural children with active parental support. This was planned to be achieved by designing and demonstrating simple experiments in Mathematics and Science by using materials available in their own environment. In this manner, rural children would be encouraged to first try out the experiments by themselves and then participate actively in the process of formal school education, making it inclusive in the true sense.
Chiguru Srujana Shaale: Hailing from the same environment ourselves and being armed with a D. Ed. certification each, both of us as founders of the above Samsthe decided to extend our dream of bringing about social progress through literacy, by providing qualitative school education to the children of about 20 neighborhood villages in our vicinity at a highly affordable fee. After 2 years of consistent efforts and with the help of the villagers and leaders of Bidarahalli, a village in the backwater region of river Kabini, we could launch our own school in December 2014. Classes for the first academic year of 2015-16 began at Chiguru Srujana Shaale on 08/06/2014 with the admission of 82 children into LKG, UKG 1st to 4th sections, making many of them first-time school goers in their family history.
Main Objective of the School: Generating curiosity and interest in the study material and their environment alike among rural school children by providing qualitative, creative & value-based education, and inculcating the abilities to create a livelihood for themselves, practising simplicity in everyday life, and developing a co-operative outlook, thereby motivating them to achieve abundance as a social community.
Chiguru at present: The daily routine of play-and-learn starts with a prayer at 9.30AM and concludes at 4.00PM. We started the practice of providing our children with a glass of milk during school hours once a week, and we probably have the distinction of being the first & only school to follow it in the entire Taluk. Besides this, the School has conducted several programmes with the active participation of parents and prominent citizens of the village; amongst them, the national festivals, sports and the school day celebrations may be mentioned here. Parents Meetings are also held every month in the presence of special invitees from related fields with an attendance in excess of 80%, and matters related to the steps that can be taken towards the progress of their wards' education, as well as the importance of their participation are all discussed. These meetings have remained a point of interest for the villagers and 16 such instances have been successfully organized till the end of December 2016. In this manner, Chiguru School has been growing into the 'village school' which the residents cherish, that it set out to be. As founders of this School, we humbly believe that this participative aspect has mainly led to the admission of 83 children during 2016-17, registering almost 60% growth in the 2nd year itself.
The Road Ahead: The governing principle that Chiguru Shaale has adopted, of imbibing noble thoughts from all directions and moving forward on its path, has been responsible for our school being recognized as one of the best in the region. Maintaining and improving upon such benchmarks of quality education is the real challenge before Chiguru Srujana Shaale. The growth-oriented Chiguru Shaale has an acute need for its well-wishers to lend a helping hand at this juncture. Many are the development works that need to be taken up, countless are the resources th
